Thirukazhukundram is renowned for its vibrant temple festivals, mainly celebrated at the Arulmigu Vedagiriswarar Temple, which attract devotees from across Tamil Nadu.

Major Festivals

  • Maha Shivaratri: One of the most important festivals here, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Thousands of devotees climb the hill and offer special prayers throughout the night.
  • Pradosham: Observed twice every month on the 13th lunar day. Special Abhishekams and processions of Lord Nandi are conducted.
  • Karthigai Deepam: Celebrated with the lighting of lamps on the hill and temple premises, creating a divine visual spectacle.
  • Panguni Uthiram: A grand annual festival with processions and special rituals, marking the celestial wedding of Lord Shiva.
  • Brahmotsavam: The temple’s most elaborate festival, usually held during Tamil months like Chithirai or Aadi, featuring:
    • Flag hoisting (Dwajarohanam)
